Physically attractive, conceptually flawed

While the technical aspects were excellently done, and a lot of time was put into the details and artwork of the world, the storyline, or lack thereof, was unbelieveable and poorly implemented. I mean, yes, you were trying to present a simplified and futuristic look at the classic Aladdin storyline. You did that. But you did it badly and with little thought to the actual details and fleshings of a good story. As an artistic example it was very nice, and your skill is obvious, but as to your ability to tell a tale you leave much to be desired. A few simple examples, why exactly was someone so revered so badly guarded? Why did the protagonist care so much about her death when they spent a single afternoon together? Why would the three muggers be so quick to kill her when she was someone of importance? About the only thing storyline-wise you did very, very well was the moment with the water, it spoke droves about the type of world the story took place in and the mindset of its inhabitants. The rest was a jumble of concepts and ideas which weren't explored well enough, even for the short length of the animation. I can only call this average.

That was just stupid.

I'm not even going to bother reviewing the "plot" of this thing, because it was adverted as something that sounded interesting, and ended up being a music video.

The graphics were sub-par. Was the main character SUPPOSED to be a hunchback, or was that just shitty art? Stylisticly, I suppose it takes SOME style to create this with a straight face and not take a few jabs, but not enough to make it good.

Look, you tried, yeah. But it's not that great. You bring up points which are moot because they were created as part of FANTASY. You make connections which could've been made at any point in time, with any group of people. That, and how the HELL do you explain the main character surviving a several kiloton bomb going off, based on your perspective, a few feet away?

Nothing bad, nothing good.

Go to a site called "Modern Firearms" and look up the Sturmgewehr and the AK-47. Maybe they're superficially similar, but what you drew in the flash was still an AK-47.

I liked the flash, though I agree that the music didn't fit the action, even if it fit the "theme".

BARMan responds:

what I drew was a sturmgewehr, I drew it from an actual picture. please stfu dumbass.

useful and fun, missing a feature or two

The things I would really, really add would be the ability to modify layers (to avoid always having guns over figures), and some more pistols (maybe make the silencer a seperate object, like the head halves)

Other than that, I like it. Already started using it to make comics and the like, mixing it with Paint.net works like a charm.

F1Krazy responds:

Cool. Send me some pics of those comics.

Same flaws as the last one

Shots don't register despite being on-target; loosing money for failing a mission yet being allowed to retry the mission, when coupled with the aim problem, makes for a stupid penalty system; "depth" added by "war" scenes tacked-on and contrite.

Fun little game, poor story

I really don't care if you didn't use the original storyline because you felt it was too complex, the story you used was too simple. The graphics were adequate; gameplay was adequate (although the inability to target legs/torso/the explosive suitcase while St. Claire was running bothered me), but the story was too damn bare-bones. I was rooting for her to get killed at the end because her motives weren't enough to explain a killing spree. I also realized early on that the cop was on her side, false information, keeping the police force at large off her trail, but you didn't reveal that officially, either. Her 'informant', D, should probably have been doing things for personal reasons and should probably have given her false info from time to time to further her own agenda. And the grandfather-figure being so accepted of his adopted child being an assassin? Yeah. Would have been better to have been betrayed by him, maybe not have to kill him but at least alienation.

The whole thing was just an excuse for violence without making me care for the people. In fact, When you did the bit where the news claimed that someone wasn't a dangerous person I expected it to continue that theme, where she started looking into her previous kills and realizing that none of them were who she thought they were. I almost started wanting the targets to begin fighting back.

One final note; the fact that targets would ignore fallen bodies screamed of sub-par coding.

I write to make money, which I spend on materials to continue to write. It's a vicious circle...
